“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” ( Deuteronomy 6:5-7 )

The Village Church (a member of the Acts29 Network) has created a Family Discipleship Guide to help households establish sustainable rhythms of time, moments, and milestones. This resource includes explanations, ideas, planning worksheets, and more.

FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP opportunities:

Sometime after your family participates in the Sunday service, we encourage you to intentionally plan some time to involve your kids of all ages in a family discussion. This can be as simple as talking through whatever your child learned in SGKids or from the sermon in the main service. You can also use our “Family Discipleship Guide” that is sent to your inbox every Sunday to review the main points of the lesson in SGKids and the questions we discussed during our small group time.

Ask questions about what they worked on to help unpack the story & the good news of the gospel from it. Don’t be discouraged if they don’t give you the right answers. God works through your efforts to point them to Jesus. No matter how “successful” you feel, the name of Jesus and His work is being proclaimed in your home!
